Liberty square is referred as low key as it has very few attractions than other lands of the Magic Kingdom. The attractions are Hall of Presidents, The Haunted Mansion, Liberty Square Riverboat, Restaurants and Shops. Among the three attractions, the Haunted Mansion is one of the best Disney attractions. Entering liberty square is an indication of stepping into Americas colonial epoch period. You can see the brick covered buildings reminding you of Williamsburg. This is no wonder why liberty square was selected as the home of presidents.
The liberty paddlewheel boat is an attraction to the visitors as it gives real relaxation. This boat has a capacity of holding nearly 450 visitors. There are fun souvenirs that small girls are attracted and the shops have antiques, tea sets, historical treasures, silver items, kitchenware, and many more things.
Shops such as the Yankee Trader, Silversmith shop, etc have all personalized items. The Liberty Tree Tavern offers lovely menu including American favorite dishes. If you desire to have England style meal, then the right place is Columbia Harbor House. The touch of patriotism is apparently obvious at Disney.
The hall of presidents conducts a show featuring images made of special paintings and narration is given regarding the constitution and presidency formation. All this is done by the animatronics figures of the American presidents. The highlight is George W. Bush recorded his speech for his figure. It is followed by Abraham Lincoln.
This hall is ideal for adults to enjoy who are aware of the history. But children may not find it suitable, unless he or she is really interested in history and is also aware of the facts and figures of history to some extent. This is one of the comfy theaters with a capacity of 700 seats. There are facilities for hearing impaired visitors. Reflective captioning and listening devices are allowed to be used and the theatre has facilities to access wheelchair.
The haunted mansion is popular for its special effects as well as ghostly gags. The mansion is in a gothic style and a typical reminiscent of the 18th century structures of the river Hudson valley. Visitors can expect a warm welcome at the door by the butlers and maids who escort you to the library.
The effects are terrific in the ballroom scene and everything is presented in a classic Disney fashion. Sometimes, the scenes are very scary and few times a tiny flashlight also work wonders in reducing the fear. Even today the haunted mansion sounds terrific and looks simply great as everyone relaxes and rejoices.
